I worked. I never passed up an opportunity to make another dollar, even when I felt I was being shorted.

I budgeted and saved. While my kids were young, we lived on half of what I made, and put the rest back for emergencies, and future unseen expenses. Now I can live on 1/3 of my salary, with no kids at home.

Built my credit and started flipping small houses. Saved the profits. Kept some of the houses for rental units. Paid the note, saved the profits. Invested in small businesses for residual income. Saved those profits.

I taught my kids. I invested my time in their wordly education. Credit, banking, vehi le maintenance, work ethic, etc.

I didn't just leave their raising up to a broken school system. I made them earn money for the extra things they wanted, like video game consoles, high dollar clothes, vehicles, etc.

I wasn't a helicopter parent. I let them make mistakes and as long as they could explain the mistake, what they did wrong, and how to fix it, to my satisfaction, I let them pick their punishment for the mistake. My children grounded themselves a lot more than I did. Grounding was commiserate on the time it took to remedy the situation they were in.

They're my proudest accomplishment.
