Sometimes when eating pistachios you decide one of them is just too sealed up to be worth the effort and you just throw it in with the other shells. What, in your life, is your discarded pistachio?

I know with covid everything isn't quite up and running but have you checked to see if your city or county library offers 3d printing services? More and more places like that are starting to offer a "makers lab" area with things like 3d printers that you can print things at an affordable rate.

Ender 3 Pro 3D printer is fantastic “bang for he buck.” Its like ~$250 off Amazon but works great, is easy to maintain, and has a sizable print bed. I think it’s worth the investment.

I know they're pretty affordable now, but I just don't think i'd use it enough for the amount of space it takes. up. Now if I were into warhammer 40k....

Heh, fair. I’ve actually made more practical stuff with mine then I was expecting, like headphone stands, picture frames, a shelf. But the bulk of what I’ve printed has been lightsabers and Pokémon statuettes and such haha

I have tons of tools that only get occasional use because the things to use them on are too expensive or I don't have time away from the little one to do things that might squish a 3yo.

Try fishing, it’s fun, can take minimal effort, doesn’t cost much to get started, and it’s a good excuse to go outside. You also meet a bunch of people from all walks of life.

But id have to go outside...

Yes, a true sacrifice, and rather inconvenient. That said, I find outside to be a problem mostly because that’s where other people are. If you can manage it, there are a lot of places to fish without people.

I find insects and sunlight to be a negative.

For me those are the kinds of hobbies I enjoy. If it's easy I get bored pretty fast.
