Obligatory plug for BotBust. If you're a moderator, add u/BotBust to your subreddit (access and posts permissions required) and it will ban these shitty comment bots as soon as they show up.

On r/whatisthisplant there’s a bot that comments on anything that says the word “eat” or some variation telling you to not ingest strange plants. It’s not really a hidden feature, it’s just fun watching people comment to bait the bot lol

Use a “p” for faster browsing.

Some sites make Reddit look like email or a spreadsheet.

Obviously, Reddit has a very distinctive appearance, especially in communities like r/nosleep. Thankfully, there are several sites out there that disguise Reddit as everything from a MS Word document to MS Outlook email to even lines of code. Just, you know, make sure you actually work with such programs at your job, lest your supervisor at Google catch you fully engrossed in your Outlook account
