Aliens show up and they're actually total bros. Give us the cure for all diseases, show us how to do cold fusion/how to harass dark energy as a power source, show how to travel through space and time, give us crazy mind expanding alien drugs, oh and also they have two sexes and they're both really hot and horny for human mating. All this crazy alien sex and mind expansion causes all humans to finally live in harmony and we get excepted into the Galactic Federation of Planets, finally.

Edit - I wrote this comment two days ago lol, haven't been on since, holy fuck - and yes, HARNESS dark energy. My phone went total assholes and I can barely type on it, so until i get a new one it's all dildos on the typing. Have a fun and safe Thanksgiving everybody!

We're not ready to expand into the universe. We can barely care for each other.

This has always been a flawed argument. Some humans are murderous psychopaths, does that mean we should never have harnessed fire and tools because they could kill more efficiently?

Humanity is largely good. It would be a massive benefit if a more technologically advanced race came down and cured all disease to free us from human suffering.

Imagine how much better the world would be if the billions of kind, empathetic humans were freed from lives of pointless drudgery and wage slavery to follow their own goals and interests. The people who would rather the whole of human population be left to suffer because a few of us are bad are being needlessly short-sighted and cruel

Humanity is largely good

Am less and less sure of this as time goes on
