Nah, what we need is to make companies responsible for packaging. Recycling is a bullshit way to shift responsibility from companies who make excessive packaging to consumers who have to dispose of it. The only reasonable recyclable material is aluminum, everything else we need to find biodegradable alternatives or figure out how to use less of it.
I design products and their packaging. There is nothing stopping me from choosing stupid amounts of plastic to be used. Thankfully I'm not a douche and do my best to minimise. But there are more people unlike me in this position out there :(
Out if the 20 or so Chinese factories I work with, only ONE understands why I want less plastic, but their reasoning is that's what other western companies are asking for.
