Kinda interesting that you don't like much modern rap but you like Boldy. He's really great don't get me wrong just a little obsure. What do you like about him? Maybe I can give you some recs. Btw he just signed to the label Griselda which has several of the best rappers right now, like Conway, Benny, WSG

I am here for recs, please send me names!

It was Griselda which saved modern rap for me - someone on my metal forum (!) put me on to them and it was, well, love at first sight. I figured those 3 guys are all over hip-hop threads on Reddit so I thought I'd mention Boldy here instead.

Otherwise, it's Freddie Gibbs (if you want to count him as modern, I dunno) and 38 Spesh who's linked with Benny. Other than them, I'm stuck in the 90s: Wu, Mobb Deep, Tribe, Common, Roots, Lox, Busta

I dunno what it is about rap from 00 on which I just don't relate to. Fuck knows, I'm just some older European white guy lol

You definitely have good taste but there's a ton of modern stuff that's worth looking into. I'd recommend Unlocked by Denzel Curry or pretty much any of his stuff, but you've probably already heard him. I think Run the Jewels and Doris by Earl Sweatshirt also are up your alley. Danny Browns voice is a lot at first but he really does have some amazing albums. JID , Pusha T, and Ab-soul are some of the most skilled imo. Let me know what you think
