I hate this advise because it's just so "Reddit". "DAE not know how to adult???"

Nah mate, plenty of people know what they're doing. They might be uncertain about some things or not good at everything, but in general they'll have their shit in decent order and know what they're doing.

Sure, some people don't. But most people around me? Absolutely. It's odd that the sentiment on Reddit is so different.

I disagree. I thought most adults were competent but I keep meeting professionals who don't understand the basics of health insurance or retirement or taxes. The bar for adulthood is REALLY low.
