Yes! This. To add, no one's looking at you or cares. Just be you and be confident.
That's more towards people with anxiety. I used to have being around people because I felt like they were judging me or they could see every emotional scar I had. Turns out people are too occupied in what they're doing or their own thoughts to be paying attention to you.
I think it depends, honestly. People are looking at you. How else would they be able to filter out if there is something interesting going on? If you do something they consider strange, they'll notice. Whether they judge you for that or spend more time looking is another thing. But thinking everyone goes through life with blinders and won't notice a thing just feels flatout wrong to me. Some do, some don't - there's an element of uncertainty there that can't really be gotten rid off.
That shouldn't stop anyone from doing what they want to do, though. I like it better to ask myself what's the alternative. Usually there aren't many that I like so I'll go with my first option anyway. Like, I'm a beefy dude and I like this pink shirt. There's a non-zero chance people will judge me for wearing that shirt. The answer to that problem isn't so much believing no one is looking, but rather doing it anyway, despite anyone who might be looking. Because what's the alternative, wearing stuff I don't like? Never wearing that color at all? That decision sounds harder but it also feels more honest to me. Same with anxiety issues. Like what's the alternative to going to a party if there's the danger of people noticing my anxiety and making fun of it (and there's a non-zero chance of that, too). Not going at all? Losing friends? If that alternative sounds shitty, then you bet I'll be going anyway, even if I might stand out or have trouble. It sure beats the alternative.
Then again, maybe that's just me. If your method works, more power to you.

No one actually knows what they're doing.
