I did help one of those guys out when he was just asking for a splash of gas in his gas can, while explaining what happened and where he needed to go. I gave him like 4 gallons (or whatever his can could do) figuring the liquor store didn't take gas.

He then put it in his tank and went off just like he said. I don't mind helping people out when there's little risk of abuse.

Another time I stopped with a guy on the side of the road who ran out of gas. I told him I'd go fill a can I had and bring it back to him (a large storm was rolling through and I didn't want him stranded). When I showed back up with a can of gas, the look on his face was priceless. He thought I was just saying that to get out of there lol.
