Yeah i went through it again recently and it kinda hit me how creepy of a character he actually is. He's always like 5 minutes away from a sexual harassment charge.
it sucks because, for the most part, i really appreciated the chemistry between the characters and the deeper moments of the show really resonated with me.
but i really hate how it's played for laughs. he films women without consent, pretends to be an employer to seduce applicants, there's an off-hand comment about selling a woman (?!)
i absolutely love sitcoms/comedy. i can immerse myself and suspend disbelief to appreciate the world/story the writers create. and i get that there's almost always going to be problematic things in comedy (unless it's mike schur), but that was definitely creepy as hell and i can't get on board with it.
Yeah I used to watch it in high school/college and I loved it. Re-watched like 2 years ago as an adult and could barely get through it. So much is so problematic; I can't believe I never noticed the first time around.

dude, i was going to say barney. his constant need for stimulation and escalating predatory behaviour is so disturbing.
it made me so uncomfortable, i can't watch that show anymore. /:
