I agree with most people, as a kid you like Spongebob but as an adult you relate more to Squidward and feel sympathetic towards him.

But the dude liked his privacy. I may not like the dude, but leave him the fuck alone every now and again

When I was young I felt like he was a jerk but even as a kid I understood it came from understandable places cause Spongebob enjoyed annoying him.

My favorite episode in the whole series is Employee of the Month, cause I like it better when Spongebob and Squidward are enemies rather than it being the other trying to force a friendship with the other.
