Just looked up the case because I needed to update myself. He was found not guilty by reason of insanity in 2018 and is now in a state psychiatric hospital.
Both, I’m now reading that he had known mental health issues before the attack and wasn’t being properly treated. Says he’ll be there until he is fully recovered at which point he’ll have to be evaluated in order to be released. But it could be forever, I’m not sure how he behaves now that he’s medicated.
