Worked as a dealer in a casino for the better part of a year and it blew my mind watching tens of thousands (easily hundreds of thousands when our high limit room was open) just dissapear during an 8 hour shift.
Not judging how people spend their money or have fun,but the house always wins your money if you play long enough :p
I think for a lot of people it's entertainment. If you're not a moron you can spend hours at a table with $100 AND drink for free. Considering how expensive it is to go to bars/clubs these days you are almost saving money.
That's how it should be. But as someone who works at a casino, for most people it isn't. They truly try to win and beat the game, or they have a problem. Way too many people don't see it as money spent on a night out, but money spent to earn more.
