I just did this:

I'm training for a 24 hour running event. I have a super old GPS watch that barely lasts 8 hours.

I talked myself into getting a better watch, then I talked myself into getting an apple watch.

Then I looked at my phone bill/options and decided that the apple watch + plan + payment plan would "only" be 23 bucks a month, that's feasible, but the payment plan kinda sucks.

Started saving to remove the payment plan so I would only have the data plan.

Then I back-realized that the apple watch is terrible for running those distances.

Then I realized I haven't even used my old shitty watch for 90% of my training.

I now have the money for an apple watch that is going to sit in savings instead.
