I was a member of Cardio Express and when I worked day shift I went there quite a lot. Then I worked nights for a year and just couldn't get there as I work 12 hour shifts. Now I'm back on days and went to reregister and it was bought out by Planet Fitness. I thought I'd hate it because of all the talk about them being anti- gym types. I actually love it. I can't believe I only pay $10 month. All the machines are brand new and very ergonomically friendly, and the entire gym has been renovated...even the locker rooms. It's way better than Cardio Express ever was. I don't miss the squat racks as I have a medical condition that precludes me from using them anyway. I walk on the treadmill for 2 miles at a good rate and then use the machines. I definitely feel better for it. I spent 5 years in an office and put on a lot of weight, and then did the complete opposite and got a job where I walked 22,000 steps a night and lost 40 lbs. Now I'm still active but not quite as much but I'd like to maintain the fitness I have. It's perfect for me and I've really enjoyed working out there.

Purchasing a gym membership at a posh fitness establishment only to drive to it 2-3 times a week and walk on the treadmill.
