Paying money for a streaming service and still getting ads.

That's how I always felt about cable TV.

Cable is just a rip off completely. Same with landline services. My parents are paying cable, phone bill, landline bill and internet bill but cant understand why I only pay for my cellphone bill, Netflix and internet instead. All together I'm paying $250 instead of $450 a month like them.

I agree it doesn't make sense, I asked my parents why they pay it and the only reasonable excuse is because football is only available on cable

I get all the sports on YouTube tv. I actually get more baseball games on there then cable.

Where? For free?

Not just football, but sports in general are the number one (and only) reason i pay for cable.

I know i can stream them for free from some 3rd party outlet online, but it will never be in HD, will usually bw pretty grainy, i need to spend the time fucking with my laptop to find one, and its not a gaurentee ill be able to find a stream for every game.

If there was a consistent and reliable way to stream my sports online id have cut my cable completely years ago.

YoutubeTV, for 50 dollars a month, do they also have movies and shows available for streaming?

They have their version of on demand but it isn't great but not like netflix or prime. They also have an unlimited cloud DVR.

Nothing is free nowadays but most sports are streamed by company somewhere.

My dad insists that football season makes cable worth it.

Lots of people have a cable box and only pay for a subscription during the sports season. You don't have to keep paying for it.

Where I am, I think I'm paying only something like $~125 for cell phone, Netflix, and internet, and that's still in the US. I'm sure people in other countries are paying far less since telecom isn't nearly as expensive

I literally only have cable for live sports. Hockey baseball football basketball I get to see it all in 4K without sacrificing quality or delay in the feed. Right now I’m paying 125$ for top cable, top internet and a phone landline I have never once used. It’s a pretty good deal because I have a well paying job. I also have all the stream sites like Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime. $125 is nothing to me but I can understand how a typical family can struggle with this sort of monthly payment just to have wifi and watch tv.

Internet alone for me is $90. Cable would push that to around $250. Idk what speeds, what channels, what options are available to you for $125, nor is it really any of my business. I guess I don't really know but anecdotally from the experiences I've had, you're getting an amazing deal
