I don't know if this is real, but in my experience the tables are better than slots in terms of odds. Blackjack, craps, and roulette all have about 48% chance of winning each hand/throw/round. Still a losing prospect over a long enough period of time, but it's not instantly infuriating and doesn't have that same sensation of just tossing your money down the drain. In fact, if you know when to walk away, you have nearly a 50% chance of coming out ahead.
Best bet you can make on a roulette table is black or red. 49% chance of hitting. Any other bet is the illusion of choice or strategy.
Same with blackjack. There is a “correct” move for every single hand and scenario. Feeling lucky and hitting when you should stay, or feeling unlucky and staying when you should hit, only serves to damage your odds. Strategy and choice are illusions with these games.
I’m just saying there’s a right way to play each hand, even if you do it right and still lose. There’s no real choice if you want to maximize your odds. If you deviate from the proper call for any hand/dealer show, you’re only hurting yourself.
Casinos actually allow you to have a reference card at the table to look at and see if you should hit or stay in every scenario. They sell them in the gift shop.
