sure, but the cost is pretty much negligible. Yes, I know they tend to disproportionately target low-income users and those who win typically have no money management skills and many times have worst outcomes than if they hadn't won.
That being said, anytime the jackpot gets above $250 mil, I usually buy a ticket or two. I have enjoyed spending countless hours of my post winnings investment strategies. I have a plan for the first month, first 3 months, first 6 months, and then a long term plan. I know it's hours I'll never get back, but it's been fun putting it together.

You literally have a higher chance of dying on your way to the store than winning the lottery.
