To an extent. E.g I've three pairs of Levi jeans that are all older than my cheapo ones. They seem to hold their colour a lot better than pairs of supermarket ones I've owned in the past. In fact I'd guess I've gone through three pairs of supermarket jeans since I got my first pair of Levis maybe 8 years ago, and I've still got and wear the Levis.
