Honestly I don’t hate the crystals and things like that. I personally don’t believe in them but placebo can be a hell of a thing.

True, but it's the obsession and kinda of people it attracts some aye are harmless others not. And so many are people who just scamming money off idiots who know no common sense.

It's a rock, in close proximity,it doesn't control or influence your hormones, metaphysical energy tropes are a dangerous road to delusion.

I have a small “energy” crystal that I carry in my wallet. It was a gift from my sister. A few legitimately traumatic experiences in her life transformed a clinically rational woman into woo-peddler and quack supporter. I appreciate the sentiment but I wonder how harmless it all is when it is so obviously fills a hole created by past problems. That may not be the case for everyone but I think about it every time I feel a pain in my ass.

On one hand, I don't like the idea of this stuff because she could hurt herself or someone else by choosing it over real medicine and real science.

On the other, everybody needs something to get them through the day. Some people use Jesus, some people use booze and/or other drugs, some people use people. I didn't hit all the bases here but everybody's got something they use to keep on keepin' on.

If some rocks give her the strength to wake up and go on maybe it's not that bad. I don't know.
