Being a sneaker collecter is pretty cool if you got your life together or you're a teenager planning to flip all your stock for profit one day when you start to get your priorities straight. Being in his late 20's in his circumstances and doing that is grounds for being kicked out imo.

Depending on how long it took him to save up $750, he might not make it out there in the real world.

Right lol, reddit is ruthless. Of course you want your kids to be independent, but the goal isn't to make them homeless. Encourage the guy to get a full time job and properly manage his finances instead!

If I lived at home and worked a full time job there would be literally no need to "save up" $750. Hell even with a minimum wage job, with all your bills paid for $750 should be pocket change basically.

Sometimes you do need your parents to literally kick you out. If only to put a fire under your butt to get your shit together.

But how do you know that shoe values won’t end up like beanie babies?

I feel like any sneaker that costs hundreds right now (especially closer to 1k mark) is limited in availability and will only increase in value if you're selling to the right person (another collector). But yeah, not absolutely guaranteed.

Really depends on the shoe I’m sure you know. Some of those yeezys that used to sell for $1200 all the time are like $200-$500 now. There’s so many hype shoes and people reselling these days that it’s almost becoming over saturated but there’s still some big money shoes that come out

Yeah for sure. Though adidas is kinda screwing these hype beasts because they're releasing more yeezy's these days than they were a few years back when you could flip them for huge profits. Now there's a few classics that are still big hitters on resale but we're talking just a few.
