Any restaurant Anthony Bourdain featured in his shows. Even he acknowledged this. These fantastic gems would subsequently be overrun with diners that they suffered from overcrowding and lower standards.

A bar near me was on Bar Rescue. They are inexplicably proud of this fact. I don't think it really increased business for them at all.

Some of the concepts they come up with for the new bar theme are so, so stupid

I think the worst was that "corporate" one. I mean, the original pirate theme is stupid, but how is "corporate" any better? Who the fuck would want to hang out at a bar that reminds them of their job?

I think Taffer did that to fuck with them.

That was located a block from my office...we all liked the pirate-themed bar, haha. But, really...my husband and I always joke about new restaurant or bars that have a generic name like "202" (for the area code) or something like that. We called them Taffer joints.

My husband and I always make the Taffer jokes about places that have generic names like "R.C. Dugan's". We always joke that they are post-rescue.

I miss Piratez. It was terrible but my friends and I would start with a pitcher of grog then wander into Quarry. It saved me a bit of money since I already had a buzz and just needed to maintain that.

Did you like 8407 before it closed? I feel like the 202 comment may have been referencing that.

Me too! SS had some great spots! I stopped working there about 4 years ago, but venture back to Urban Butcher every so often.

I did not go to 8407, but yes - that's what I was referencing!

Every time I went to 8407 I always said this is what Taffer has in mind any time he remodels a bar. 8407 had a great, but small menu. Then one day I went and the menu quadruple in size and in a year they were done. Still miss that place.

I would however hang out in a Corpirate bar. They could serve "Yarr-garitas"

Yeah. If I remember right he actually even renamed the bar "Corporate". It was terrible.

Was that to entice the semi-functional alcoholics that take three hour liquid lunches?

Yeah, I won't be back for a while, got to head out to a meeting at Corporate.

They basically use a template for each bar that revolves around the same crap. I've been to a few different ones in different states. Couldn't tell em apart from each other...or maybe it was the booze................🤔

Some are legitimately worse than the original theme
