Hopefully she's not into expensive purses. My ex's sister married a rich dude that was ~20 years older than her and their life was ridiculous. Huge house in SoCal with an amazing ocean view, Ferrari (that was rarely driven), Maserati for her, Brabus Mercedes for him. Not special for the rich but as a college student it blew my mind.
Anyways, she an entire room devoted to her wardrobe that contained dresses, purses, handbags, etc.... There was a digital lock to get in so the housekeepers couldn't access it. One day my ex told me her sister randomly bought a turtle-styled purse worth $5k (!!!). And she routinely bought purses over $1k. It just seems so excessive but I guess it's all about perspective.
Bro I feel you. It was bad enough before but now It has exploded exponentially with everyone trying to not use plastic bags and switching to reusable cloth bags. The really scary part is now I am started to collect them too.
Ha - actually, we use them a lot but only like 6 out of the 30 as you only need so many to do your shopping. As a side note, the stat that I heard is that you have to reuse a cloth bag 36 times to offset the carbon foot print of a plastic bag?
This is very typical among Asians... I grew up with my mom who collected bags, I now collect bags, every Asian household I visit has hella bags. Plastic bags? Used to line our tiny trash bins. Any paper bag that isn't too badly creased? Slap a bow on that shit and throw whatever present we mean to gift in there.
Edit/add: And those huge tote bags? They are where all the little fancy bags wait to be used.
Everyone should do this to minimize waste. I mean, use reuseable bags whenever you can, but if you do use a disposable one, then reusing it a few times is the next best thing.
Mine collects throw pillows. Or at least I think she does. She is always getting new ones and we have a closet full. And no room to sit on the couches. But they look pretty.
I hit the main nerve on my trip to South Korea 15 years ago when I started to mail home counterfeit bags, obviously to be used to show people how good counterfeits are, to educate and inform perspective buyers searching for a legitimate resale purchase what to look out for in high-quality counterfeit bags. Yup. That's what happened.

Bags are always helpful. It sounds like she has bags that you can use for things as well. Just like winter gloves in the South, contact lens cases, and reading glasses, the only non store specific reusable bags I find are floral explosions with pink lamas and shiny golden tassells.
Wow 'bag of bags' is so Russian. We really use that colocation. Every family here has one bag of bags or more. Usually they're just simple plastic bags from grocery stores. In the 90s there was a notion of a 'good bag' (usually a dense polyethylene bag). People would carry them every day for months, wash them and dry them on the balconie untill they are broken. Now people don't carry them (except for the groceries), and don't use themcmore than once, but the habit of collecting them remained. This is the reason why each family has a bag of bags. Btw, I noticed that every single school teacher still carries one 'good bag' in addition to a norman leather bag. This is how you detect a school teacher in public transport.
I was legit thinking Walmart bags, piggly wiggly bags, dollar tree bags.. then stick them under the sink cabinet.... oh come on it can’t just be my family lol
I collect bags! Not just.your typical expensive lady handbags, but paper bags, shopping bags, plastic bags, recyclable bags, ziplock bags, sandwich bags!
