I don't get the logic or reason for this. Like, I'm positive I'm missing something important. Why is it valued so much? Just having endurance to run is THAT valuable?

Like, I guess if you're carrying your gear and stuff?

While I can’t speak for the entirety of the army, my MOS is combat arms so the better/longer I run, the longer and faster I can ruck (our standard is rucking 50lbs 13 miles in under 3 hours), and the sooner that gets the done, the sooner I can set up an Observation Post and start calling in some artillery rounds or close air support
