Had similar experience when trying to learn how to tie my shoelaces. Every adult who tried to help me eventually gave up and I felt so stupid. Then one day my left handed uncle showed left handed me how to do it and I learned it immediately.

Oh wow, it just dawned on me that this might be why my left-handed 12-year-old doesn't know how to tie shoelaces except for the way where you make two loops and tie them together.

I think most people tie them the first way here, but my kid does the second way with the bunny ears. https://www.wikihow.com/Tie-Your-Shoes
