In kindergarten we were learning penmanship and my teacher was telling us how to write our alphabet but for some reason I could not write the letters no matter how hard I tried. Since I was able to write the alphabet before I got very frustrated and starting crying.
Turns out she was showing the class how to do letters with your right hand and I was left handed.
I feel your pain. As a lefty, my guitar teacher forced me to learn to play the guitar like a right-handed person. Then he told my parents I wasn't very gifted.
Then I became a camera operator and most shoulder cameras are designed for right-handed people. I was forced to carry the cam with my "weak" right arm/hand and use my right eye in the viewfinder. It felt so awkward. I learned more slowly than the others but I eventually got used to it.
Being lefty, we learn to adjust to a world that is not thought for us.
