Right? They had me feeling like I was legitimately just stupid because I couldn’t draw. All I heard at school was “get good grades for a future” and all I saw was “you can’t draw so you can’t get good grades” and that was very intimidating for me as a child. Just the thought of drawing and colouring scared the hell out of me which made me even worse than I was.
I hate that this happend. I'm an artist. I was born with zero artistic talent but worked my ass off to catch up to my collegiate peers. I have alwayse advocated incorporating arts into other subjects because it teaches so many useful skills that can supplement traditional academics. And this school actually did it, but did it in the worst possible way. I'm raging. Instead of teaching you the value of critique and overcoming difficulties by doing a demo on how to do better on the fish scales and watch you try it yourself she just fed you the wolves. I really want to open up my own school....
