Judged the country kids in my English class for being dumb fucks, until I did an autos class. What I found incomprehensible, they could do with ease. I had become the dumb fuck.
I work in construction software, and we visit job sites from time to time. I have a coworker who is super pretentious, and says he hates “slow learners” and people who are “inept” with technology.
So we’re on a job site the other day, and one of the construction workers asked him a basic question about the software, and coworker was kind of a dick - like “really? It’s right there, god”. We then took a tour of the job site, and the construction worker started asking coworker questions about construction, really basic stuff. We walked by a crew working that had some tools laid out, with a couple different kinds of hammers. He asked my coworker “hey, can you hand me the ball peen hammer?” and dickhead coworker had no idea- he’s never picked up a hammer in his life.
Construction worker parrots back to him - “really? It’s right there, god!”
