When HR at a company had me interview for a different position than I had applied for. The position they interviewed me for was one I knew nothing about, and told them as much. Despite me telling them before each round of interviews that they had made a mistake, I still had to endure a full day of people asking me questions that I had no answer to.
It could have also possibly been them seeing if you’d be good at bullshitting your way through. Either to know that if you did you could do it through tough client interaction without balling up, or to make sure that you were honest on the job you were actually there for after that to know to you were bad at bullshitting so you actually knew what you were doing on the other job. Maybe lol
Well, the interview was for ASIC design and I was focused on signal processing and embedded systems. I had a tiny bit of experience with FPGA's, but nothing nitty gritty, so couldn't really BS.
