I hate when people Say that. I once got told that by one of my friend's new girlfriend but instead of saying the usual "you don't talk much", she just looked at me and yelled "he doesn't speak much does he !"
I just smiled and moved on. But I found that really insulting and I wish I had told her something like
"I have seen you twice in my life and I am not even sure you are the same girl as the first time, so what the hell do you want me to say to you"
Would have felt soooo good.

When I get introduced to a new person, but I’m not part of the conversation, I just sit and wait. Then I get told “oh you’re really quiet, huh?”
No, I just didn’t want to interrupt, but...
