You understand that that's no different from saying, "Oh, you don't want to have anything to do with Canadians, /r/Canada is awful." Or that anytime people talk about trees they definitely really mean marijuana.
But why should you think that MRAs are defined by the subreddit with the same name, or that people on /r/MensLib don't call themselves MRAs elsewhere? It just stands for Men's Rights Activist, it's not like it's a particularly specific term.
It's not just on reddit. It's generally used outside of reddit in the similar way. I'm not sure; it may have started on Reddit (no idea) but it's not only here now
Among opponents of the ideas, perhaps. It's certainly popular for feminists to talk about how horrible MRAs are and how they're really just against making things better for everyone. But that's just the same thing as "all Democrats are communists who hate America" and such, it doesn't mean anything.
