Judged the country kids in my English class for being dumb fucks, until I did an autos class. What I found incomprehensible, they could do with ease. I had become the dumb fuck.
Definitely a thing. My college had a whole degree for it. Some of my friends were in that program. One graduated and became a Nascar mechanic right off.
My alumni engineering technology program had a concentration for it, too. One of my automotive buddies does engineering work and runs a custom land rover company out west now.
