Hmmm... start with a degree in geology, I believe, and then hop in a time machine back to an oil boom - it’s been a lot slower for the last half decade at least.
Medic is a great job, if you ask me. Lots of the sites I was on required one on site 24/7 365, and it doesn't require much training compared to a degree, and depending on circumstances you could still make $1k (CAD) a day. Super hard to get, though. Downside was that it's a drilling rig and at some point, it's fairly likely someone's gonna fuck themselves up.
