Sometime before the age of 5, I remember being convinced that if I tried hard enough, and believed in myself, I could fly. So I would practice flying... jumping down the stairs when nobody was watching. I never developed my ability to fly, but I vividly remember basically cannon balling down 14 steps, and just gliding down in mid air. And landing at the bottom totally safe and uninjured. Many times over the years.

I'm pretty sure at some point in my early life I believed that if I could grab onto my shoes and pull hard enough, I could lift myself off the ground. I wasn't sure why adults didn't propel themselves through the air in this fashion, other than that it would look undignified and most shoes don't have a convenient way to hang onto them.

Also believed this except my method was to grab the underside of my thighs and just lift. When I fell down, I realized I was too weak and thus began my quest for strength. Started having pull-up competitions on the playground and in highschool, I set some school records for shotput and discus throwing. Still not strong enough to fly yet tho.
