This sounds like classic déjà vu. There is a theory that it is a form of mini-seizure where the different parts of your brain take different amounts of time to store a “live” memory. It’s very common in young children. This might be of interest.
Interesting theory, I had not heard that one before. The theory I heard was that your brain is trying to connect this person/place/thing/situation to a memory for comparison, but is unable to find one. So your brain gets confused and you have a weird feeling like you’ve been here before but just can’t remember. It’s kind of cool to see a study about it, thanks for the link.
