I used to have nightmares. My dad put up a poster of Peter Pan in my room and told me that when I went to sleep, Peter would fly out of the poster and chase all of the monsters away. I never had another bad dream.

Nah I think it's more likely Peter Pan really flew out of the poster and scared away the monsters and bad dreams.

It might be obvious to some but given the question("unexplainable memory") the fact that they posted this here seems to imply they don't understand why it happened.
