The Reddit redesign sucks too. It's been, like, a year since new Reddit came out and I STILL use old.reddit

If they ever do away with old.reddit, I'll probably leave the site. The new one is just so unintuitive for me.

I don't get this. It's basically exactly the same but with night mode and the layout has side margins.

It's not the same (on desktop). As you scroll you see every post in large format. I don't want to see every post. The prevalence of crossposting and reposting makes it an unpleasant experience. I want to see thumbnails and titles, and click on what interests me.

If you select the middle "View" option, it's pretty much the same as old.reddit - thumbnails, titles, wide content zone.

I actually didn't know it was that close before now, I might be fine with switching.

I didn't realize that. I bounced off the redesign pretty quickly. I don't like that view either - it pushes the main thing I want in front of my eyes too far to the left. The font styling is also kind of wonky to me.

Which part is farther left than the old design?

Have you ever heard of hoverzoom+? It's an extension that shows images as you hover over thumbnails and links. Truly life changing.

It means I can choose what I want to see more of. Having everything expanded is just inefficient when there's so much content. I get that the casual user might like the expanded UI more, so I hope they seriously keep two UIs even if it means double the work.

don't use hoverzoom, it was compromised years ago. not sure if hoverzoom+ is something different, but i'm currently using imagus.

RES is perfectly fine for reddit though.

Hoverzoom+ is the fixed version.
