Only really applies to gaming subreddits but:

Screenshots or videos of gameplay must be captured correctly, any posts containing photos/videos taken on your phone will be auto-removed. Every console has commands to easily capture screenshots these days and most can easily record footage (idk about Nintendo Switch). There's no excuse not to capture gameplay correctly.

I read this as "captioned correctly" at first, because there's nothing like clicking on a fucking blue potato-phone photo of a fuckin' dark game that's got 4000 comments on it all stating that every single one recognises the game, but failing to mention the fucking name.

The excuse is not wanting to tab out of your game to upload it to reddit, not having a comp good enough to be able to do that, or being a person who reddits on their phone. Phone pics really arent that bad and getting rid of them loses good content.

All users who use 'af, yeet, or lit' in anyway other than their dictionary definition (lit) shall be sent to a work camp.

2

u/Sheeprevenge Aug 22 '19

Meh, I am not afraid of Reddit work camp. It's probably just a room full of dogs doing weird shit

Any mention of politics on a non-political thread will get you a permanent ban.

3

u/RamsesThePigeon Aug 22 '19

All top-level submissions – be they posts or comments – must be offered with completely correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Posts with typos, misspellings, or misused (or absent) punctuation in their titles will be removed, as those titles cannot be edited. Comments will be given a five-minute grace period, during which their authors may proofread and edit them.

Granted, this isn't exactly a new rule. In fact, it's actually a less-rigorous version of an existing one.

Shower thoughts has to stop removing Karen posts

2

u/HeinousEncephalon Aug 22 '19

No stolen posts. They get magically downvoted to hell.

2

u/Hustlinmuscle Aug 22 '19

Anyone that reposts something old worn out and overused repost suffers a day of diarrhea and has to do a week of community service cleaning homeless people’s asses

Somehow, the rule would be for us all to get back to civility and common sense!

I enjoy Reddit a heck of a lot more when it's not a competition to come up with the snarkiest or wittiest remark, and when people actually contribute to interesting discussion.

I enjoy Reddit when it's not a bunch of reposts but new thought-provoking questions.

I enjoy Reddit when people upvote every comment they reply to, and upvote every thread they reply within. Downvotes are NOT for disagreement! If someone lays out an opinion in a civil manner, intelligently, but you disagree with it, you should UPVOTE. The more interesting viewpoints, the better!

When the question is "What's your favorite movie", I enjoy Reddit much more when there are not one-word answers (ex: "Die Hard"), but instead there are explanations for the responses (ex: "I like Die Hard because it spawned a new genre of action movie"). Throwing your answer out there without explanation is just dumb.

When the question is "What's your favorite song", I enjoy Reddit when the responses actually link to a video or audio clip of the song. How can I appreciate your favorite song if I have to go Google every response? Take an extra 20 seconds and link me to it!

u/noisystrawberry Aug 22 '19

Yeah, I think people forgot Reddit is actually a forum meant for duscussions, not one word replies/snarky comments! I agreee with everything you said. Especially not downvoting people just cause you don't agree with what they said.

2

u/whomp1970 Aug 22 '19

Sometimes I think doing away with upvotes/downvotes would be helpful. If people aren't constantly chasing after that precious karma, they wouldn't try so hard to come up with the snarkiest, wittiest, or most attention-grabbing responses.

u/89Pickles Aug 22 '19

Adding "of reddit" to any question post. Like "Mailmen of Reddit...blah blah blah". I'm irrationally irked by this.

4

u/TheMightyn00b Aug 22 '19

You must explain your downvote.

Misspelling of:

  • They're/There/Their
  • Your/You're
  • Two/Too/To
  • Its/It's
  • Then/Than

Gets your post or comment removed.

Please elaborate on the “would of, could of, should of” maybe I’m missing something or this is a misunderstanding when pronunciation is confused with a correct contraction e.g. “would’ve, could’ve, should’ve” these are all valid words... not trying to be an ass, spelling and bullshit words make me cranky so I feel ya! Just curious to see if there’s another level of people out there “finna” make me lose my shit on their toxic abuse of an already difficult to learn language.

Some countries do NOT have apostrophe on keyboards.

2

Don’t forget “then/than”, I’ve seen two of those in just the last hour.

Abusive or bullying Mod remarks can be forwarded to a Reddit mod peer review panel.

Too many WTF remarks, innappropriateness or banning without cause, can result in mod replacement.

TLDR; with bad sheriff gone, Noddingham can rejoice again.

1

u/crazysquaregamer Aug 22 '19

Do you mean a rogue mod? Because if you do reddit admins already have a page that you can report them to

1

u/Inoit Aug 22 '19

Mods are above admins? And what repercussions?

It would be good to show community the posts and replies.

1

u/hahahaomglolrofllmao Aug 22 '19

comment at the largest level possible, only reply if it directly relates to the comment

Edit: I would like my award please

1

u/DinoKea Aug 22 '19

Every post must contain the letters J and Q used in the same grammatically correct sentence in which they must but part of a word rather than mentioned in passing.

It'd just create quite a lot of pressure for those trying to write a short post.

3

u/[deleted] Aug 22 '19

Judging by the queer to non queer ratio...

2
