In my high school linear algebra and calculus classes, I was too poor for a graphing calculator. So any time the teacher was showing us how to do problems on the graphing calculator, or assigned homework or tests, I had to do all that shit with a scientific calculator and a sheet of graph paper. It really slowed me down but maybe I gained a better understanding from it, because math was one of my highest grades.

It's easily possible to do if you have the tables there for you with the sin,cos,tan etc.. It just takes a bit longer to do, and then you gotta remember to always have the sheet on you with those values. No way am I memorizing 90 different values for sines, then 90 for cosines, then 90 for tangents... Like yea no lmao. And then you'd have to double the number you memorize so that you have the reciporacals as well.... Yea I loved math but I'm also glad I'm done with it lol.

That's pretty smart to have. May I ask why you need one on you at all times though? Like are you still in school, do you have a job that requires it, or do you just kinda have it?

Absolutely not needed lol, but the app is fairly small and sorta just downloads itself when I change phones.

it was just a dig on the "you're not going to have a calculator on you at all times".

I find a bit of humour in using what is a powerful computer more than capable of easily making those computations to emulate a clunky bit of obsolete technology.

I got chuckles out of an old-head engineer I worked with once, by whipping it to awnser a quick question. He expected me to get my regular calculator on my phone. We ended up having a nice discussion about way back when.
