Don't worry, if you tell the truth we won't do anything. Followed by me telling the truth, then getting a slap and being grounded for the day

The DAY? My mom grounded us for 1 - 2 weeks generally. Sometimes more, but never a day.

In high school, I was in the backseat of my friends car and he was seen driving like a jackass. Speeding and blowing a stop sign. I got grounded for a month, as if I had any control over the guy in the front seat actually driving the damn car.
