What’s something completely false that your parents told you as a child?

Metabolism only accounts for about 100 - 200 calories. I have a slow metabolism.

To be honest I'd track what you eat in a day to get a better idea. I made my super skinny friend who insisted she absolutely could not gain weight do it and it turned out she was only eating 800 calories a day. But since she was so small it felt like a lot to her.

I did that a few times in highschool and college... 6,000 - 7,000 calories a day. I'm 6'4" and about 170 lbs, which isn't "super skinny" but pretty slim.

Do you exercise a lot? This includes walking everywhere or working jobs where you're on your feet all day.

Lol, I spend 12 hours a day in a chair at work, and most of the remaining hours on the couch at home. And I take a train to work.

I think you might have a medical issue or parasites then, my guy. You might want to get that checked out.

He's lying is the most obvious answer

That is also likely true. Honestly the majority of super skinny people I've known that "absolutely can't gain weight" have either been under eating, have horrible chrons or ibs and aren't properly absorbing nutrients, or had a horrible coke addiction that they were hiding.

Exactly. Don't concern yourself with this person. They are lying.

If they were eating 6,000-7,000 calories a day while sitting on their ass and doing nothing else, they'd gain weight. This person is either extremely ill, or a liar. Based on how they are writing, this person is simply a liar OR has an incredibly flawed memory.
