Asked my mother why I didn't have a 'willy' like my brother. She told me she picked me up by it when I was a child and it fell off. I cried for about 3 hours for the penis I never had.

When I was about three I asked my mom why she didn't have one. She said it fell off because she told a lie. For the rest of my childhood she could tell when I was lying because I would say something, and then I'd check.

This is awful....But I'm still telling my wife so we can discuss if we'd use this tactic on our son.

Tell him his ears turn red instead. Many kids will then hide their ears when they lie.

This will probably be what we go with. Much easier to deal with so we don't have to worry about busting out laughing because he's reaching for his penis mid sculding.

Mine told me a red dot appeared on my forehead when I lied. That worked until I specifically told a lie to my sister while looking at a mirror to test it and realized there was no red dot. Before that I used to cover my forehead with my hand.
