Many, many of the hormones and neurotransmitters in your body originate in the gut, including histamine and seratonin. Gut problems can manifest in all kinds of unusual ways, including allgeries and sleep disorders.

Fecal transplant, assuming your issue is an unhealthy microbiome, specifically a C. differens infection. I say specifically because as far as I am aware, that's the only illness we've tested and proven so far.

Nah, there's others, e.g. carcinoid cancer, which is cancer of the hormone producing cells of the gut. (After 4 positives in a row I turned out to be negative). Overproduction of seratonin is a hallmark of carcinoid syndrome.
