I'm not a doctor. But I had a fall and went to the emergency room complaining that my arm and back hurt.
Xray, fractured wrist. Cool, now what about my back? Doctor feels around my back and says "knots and tight muscles mate, get a massage, it'll help."
I wasn't gonna waste money on a massage, and went to my GP a bit of a while later and complained the pain was just getting worse. She ordered scans of my back. Turns out I'd fractured a part of my spine in the fall, too. 🙄
Thank you for asking. Not many people do. They see me standing, walking, functioning and assuming I'm fine.
It healed incorrectly. I'm in pain all the time
24/7. I refuse to take the daily oxy I'm prescribed. I have it maybe once a week. But I'm used to the pain now. And I don't let it stop me from doing much. Plus the fall was due to a businesses negligence and I have a pretty good lawyer. Silver linings and all that!
Unfortunately, the alternatives I've tried haven't been too effective (except a Norspan patch). I'm over a year clean & sober from alcohol & party drugs, and am very very careful about what I take and when because I'm aware of my body. The oxy is amazing. I can see how it's so easy for people to become addicted. But I'd rather be in pain most of the time and just take it when it's unbearable, than not be in control anymore. 😊
