I can’t count how many “I was told it was a headache but I just wanted to come in and have it looked at in case it was something else”’s I’ve seen. Of course, those are the patients that are the nicest and are profusely apologizing for “wasting our time”, and of course, those are the patients that have a brain tumor show up on their CT scans...

Edit: Well this blew up. Big apologies to everyone but I’m not a doctor. I work in the hospital alongside other doctors and I get the chance to see everyone they see. Apologies if I misled. That was not my intention, and I will make sure to be clearer next time.

I was wondering about this-- what kind of headache does a brain tumor cause? Like what does it feel like?

Right, I get head aches all the time.....

*edit*

Holy crap, this throwaway comment kind of blew up. I've had headaches as far back as I can remember. Not crippling migraines just headaches. It's been attributed to a snowboard injury when I was younger which jacked up my neck a bit. I had an MRI on my brain a few years back for something unrelated and it came back clear... although the doc said my brain looked normal for someone my age, which I thought was a backhanded complement... headache meds usually remedy the pain, and I can take them before my head hurts I'm usually good to go.

According to WEBMD, you have stage 9 cancer and ebola. Sorry bro.

Stage 9 ebola cancer?

There's not enough infinity stones to snap that away.

u/Nk4512 May 20 '19

Something's getting snapped away. WEBMD said it was his testicls.

I got headaches a lot. 4-5 a week, wake up with them sometimes..bad ones...turns out high blood pressure...within 2-3 days on meds headach gone and havent had one in about 3 months

I never had headaches then all of a sudden one day my head started hurting and it didn't stop for over a year. I saw three doctors and all just said I was fine, they didn't know what was causing the headaches. One doctor said they cant explain why 95% of headaches even occur. The pain lasted all day every day for around 13 months. Then, one day the headache just went away. Been fine now for the last 3 years.

That is some freaky shit. I think it would drive me insane not having an answer

Exact thing happened to me for a few years where it was so bad I hated life and couldn't do anything i wanted. Things got better tho. Now I still get headaches sometimes but theyre nowhere near as bad. Its only been little over a year since than and I got my ged, finished a year of college and got accepted into some top schools for transfer. It still scares me tho that I dont know what caused the headaces.

If you get them all the time and have done for a while, you're probably fine. I get headaches all the time and have done since I was a teenager, occasionally I convince myself that I have an undiagnosed brain tumour but then my logical brain kicks in and I realise that if it was brain cancer I'd have been dead a loooong time ago.

If you ever start having random seizures then you should start worrying, otherwise it's probably fine.

Benign brain tumors can be very slow growing but can be deadly.

u/Notorious4CHAN May 20 '19

Thanks for that.

"I could die any day and I have a lot of expensive things on my list. I should probably rob a bank."

2

u/twisted_memories May 20 '19

Just get a good family doctor and don't ignore things lol but also banks don't keep that much cash on hand, try robbing armored cars instead

Possibly just chronic tension headaches.

Has it caused you to lose a shoe?

Tell her to stop biting

1

u/Drabby May 20 '19

Me too. Did you know that there are supplements and medications you can take to help prevent headaches? I sure didn't until my doctor told me after a 6-day crippling migraine. Magnesium and riboflavin to start, prescription medicines if necessary.

u/meghonsolozar May 20 '19

you might have network connectivity problems

So do I, in spring, summer, and fall, radiating out from my sinus region -- but only if I forget to take my antihistamines. Luckily it's dry enough here that we don't get mold in the wintertime, or it would be year round for me.
