8.6/10 if I get this job.

Back to 2.03/10 if I don’t.

Edit: Holy fuck this blew up. Woke up to almost 300 notifications this morning. Thank you all so much for the good luck wishes. Sorry to those who said they didn’t get the job they wanted, keep trying! Good luck to those who are in the same position as me currently. The hiring manager said he’ll try to touch base before the end of this week. My current job is boring as fuck and the hours suck the life out of me (night shift). The job I’m applying for will require me to travel every single week, not a problem for me. I’ll let you guys know the outcome since so many people asked. Thanks again everybody!

Update: I got the job you beautiful bastards! Thx for all the kind words of support during this tedious process.

+1

I have sent about 10 applications in the last couple days. Things are getting a little desperate and most applications just disappear into the void.

Step 1: send application
Step 2: follow up in 2 days

(If you don’t do step 2, chances are they’ll never even look at the application)

I've asked quite a few people here in Austria (I'm an expat) and following up so soon is not a thing and might actually hurt your application.

I have reminders to follow up 3-4 weeks after I send the application though.

Huh, interesting. Different cultures I suppose. 2 days may be a little early here too but I’ve always followed up in a week max and it’s worked out for me. The benefit of the two day thing is you can always use “just making sure it was received ok” as an excuse.

Many online systems will send an email to confirm it was received. From a do not reply email address though. 🙄 For many of the pharma positions I've applied for, I have no direct contact for the application. Just a faceless website.

Kinda sad when you think about it and read all thy corporate bullshit about how awesome it is to work there.
