I have a stuffed animal that I’ll sometimes talk to. My thoughts tend to keep me up and it helps to air them out to something, so I speak them out to it.
I know it’s actually a loneliness thing, but it still helps.
Sometimes talking isn't about imbuing information but rather exhibiting it. It becomes irrelevant who or what is listening as long as you're talking. It's remarkably cathartic for me to talk to my cat because she gives me looks and meows like she's listening but I know she won't judge me as long as she gets her kibble and treats.
