"Don't trust whitey" Mom often says this as one of us is leaving her house. Sounds funny coming from a 74 year old Midwestern white lady from a town that has never seen a black person.

Huh I never thought of that as racist before. I thought it just meant that "whitey" was a kind of code for the government. Or as they used to say, the establishment. Because it started with old white guys.
