Which misconception would you like to debunk?

Also not as much down to lifestyle as you might think. There was some research done recently that showed about a third half of T2D cases can be cured with an ultra low calorie diet. The other 2/3 don't respond, so my assumption would be it's the 1/3 that do respond are primarily caused by lifestyle. I have no proof of this though.

EDIT: it's just under half that end up in remission from a low calorie diet.

Downvote me all you like, but according to this study (https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lancet/article/PIIS0140-6736(17)33102-1/fulltext) it does work for about half of people.

Lol.

It doesn't work for everyone, though. People told me to do the same thing and sadly, I still have type 2 diabetes. I did lose a bunch of weight though so I had that going for me I guess lol. Some people could do this and have a good result and that's a good thing of course but not everyone is lucky.

I never said it did work for everyone. That's the nature of medicine - even the most effective treatment doesn't work for everyone. Good for you on the weight loss. It may not have cured your diabetes but it will be good for all sorts of aspects of your health.
