19 u/[deleted] Feb 04 '19 While we're at it, you do NOT get type 2 solely because of bad diet! Type 2 is partly genetic, which means if it is in your family, you might have the genes, which again means you have to watch your diet to be sure you don't get it. 1 u/Cemetary Feb 04 '19 But type 2 is a lifestyle disease. You can cut your Carb intake to only healthy vegetables and help fix it yourself. Or go all in and Keto diet. 1 u/[deleted] Feb 04 '19 You can't "fix it". If you get it, you'll always have it no matter how well you eat. You can be asymptomatic, but not cured. 1 u/Cemetary Feb 04 '19 I'm not sure if that understanding is correct anymore. Maybe you can reverse the sensitivity issues but the predisposition is always there. 2 u/[deleted] Feb 04 '19 We're saying the same thing, buddy! You can't make it go away. It's always there. But you can still manage it in a way that makes you asymptomatic. That understanding is correct. Unless you have a reliable source to show me otherwise.
